I was born with the DIY (Do-It-Yourself) spirit. Growing up, yard sale shopping with Mom informed my perspective of value and life cycles of "things." Learning about tools with Pop provided me with better understanding of how things are made. I learned skills from helping flip houses, HGTV, Domino magazine, working in real estate, homeownership, and apprenticing alongside contractors on residential projects.

The goal isn't simply to own less, it's to create a home that functions well, reduces unnecessary consumption, and feels easier to maintain over time. This topic is important and will be explored in depth on the blog.
